True! Stupid question, I guess. I only ask because I can either choose deco tile from a pool tile supply at $20/piece of 6x6 ceramic tile, or $2/piece of 6x6 ceramic tile from a Mexican ceramic tile store. Wasn't sure if there was a difference in the glazing/sealing/etc.

If I were you, I would post the question on the Houzz Pool Forum. People there may advise you about sealing tiles or special adhesives to use that don't result in problems when exposed to chlorine and other chemicals. Good luck. I'm sure it will be lovely. Porcelain tile is very different than the Mexican ceramic tile. Can't be too careful.

Also depends on where you are -- talavera tile absorbs moisture and will crack and crumble in freezing temperatures, which can look great in some settings, but would be a disaster for a pool...
