Hi. This may be the wrong forum but, wondering what the thoughts are on my carport design. My intent was to have an old fashioned looking house and homes of that period did not usually have attached garages are carports. Sooo I decided to go with a carport instead of a full on garage. The idea is that it doesn't look like a "hard stop" like a fully enclosed garage would be, but rather, your eye will flow through the openness of it. I think the crossbeam ties in nicely with the beam/header going across the front porch. My hope also was that this doesn't look "cheap" with a newly built custom home. I do love the clean simple lines... Opinions? Thanks!
