Some finished projects

This is crib size, made from charm squares and a tone on tone.

This next one I put together with squares we made at a workshop at my guild in Florida. I would never choose these colors myself but it's a charity quilt made from volunteer labor.

For some reason I can't get the colors right on this one. It's a string quilt which will probably go to Project Linus.

I think every quilt we make serves some kind of purpose and speaks for itself in one way or another. I like the one using charm squares (and will probably copy it someday), workshop quilts are to expand our horizons and someone will feel blessed to have the quilt. The string quilt looks like you might have been feeling 'autumnal' that day so that's the way you sewed........and they are all nicely done! All in all, don't we sew because we like to? We try new things because we don't know if we'll like it or not.....sometimes we do, sometimes we don't and that's ok. (sorry, felt like tossing in some extra thoughts today)

Fran, those are all great little quilts. When you say that you can't get the colors right on the third one, did you mean in the photo? The browns, rusts and golds work really well together, I think. The colors in the second one, while not of your choosing, look fine. It reminds me of an old-fashioned quilt made from whatever fabric the quilter had available. It still has charm. Good work!

Wonderful quilts, Fran! I really like the workshop quilt --- although those are not my colors either, it just speaks to me. It just......eye-catching!
