Oh, it is SO cute! Just darling. I know what you mean about panels, though...I've tried them once or twice and they present challenges if they aren't straight, are a weird size, etc.

Very cute! Like the others, panels can be a pain, but sometimes they just call out to us and we suffer along until something beautiful turns out! Lucky baby who'll get this one!

I've never used panels, but yours look great. Did you applique the panels onto the stripes?

Yes, bev, and that was the angst part! I machine appliqued with the buttonhole stitch on the turned in outer edge of the panel blocks, using brown thread, so the appliqué is almost invisible. I hand quilted around each animal, accenting some of the foliage print, then I hand quilted next to the brown outer trim on each block. So each panel block was hand quilted through the entire quilt sandwich to hold it down securely.
