Help with lighting Part IV :(

Hi All,

We've taken a break from the lighting plan to focus on finishing other areas of the room, and now turning back to it. My wife and I have sat down and decided that while the ideal is sconces and decorative pieces, we need to keep things simple to reduce complexity and impact (further demo/reconstruction - which all that wiring would necessitate). The other problem is that she wants the bed against the wall (in the corner) which would also create a placement challenge, both for receptacles and for sconces. The comment I keep hearing is "he's 10" :P

What we figured on is ditching sconces, tracks, fans, etc, and throwing in four 4" recessed cans with directional gimbal LED trim so that we can aim them toward the walls. I will wire them on a dimmer circuit which is separate from the other lights in the room, and operated from two switches, one next to the door and one next to the bed. This way if he is reading or something he can dim the lights as needed. As the wall at the foot of the bed will probably have a large bookshelf, it will serve to light that as well. We are figuring this setup, while not the most decorative, will take care of both the ambient and task light needs, and not require more than two lighting circuits/paths since the room is really not large enough to necessitate.

With all that in mind, does anyone see a reason why it wouldn't work well?

Thx again!
