We recently downsized to an executive town home that is 2100 square feet with 2 curved staircases running from the rec room through the main floor and up to the second floor where the bedrooms, laundry, office and bathrooms are.
The rec room stairs are carpeted and the main floor staircase has a runner which cannot be removed. I want a more updated look and wonder if painting the stringers and spindles cloud white and leaving the railing oak to tie in with the wide plank oak on the main floor is a good idea? Or perhaps paint the railing a darker color?
