Here is a glass of wine!! and yes it can get frustrating as you change fixtures now you need to change hinges to match for the look. You would have to change the handle on the front door to match the interior but it should look nice as the red exterior can handle different color handles for a nice feature. It is worth it over time. Curtain rods and light fixtures should be an accent to the room colors. Door hinges and handles can be different then other products in room.

I agree. Exterior door hardware does not need to be the same finish as interior. I, too, like brushed nickel for interior doors as it doesn't show scratches and fingerprints as easily as many other finishes.

Think of your front door hardware as jewelry.

Oh, and here's a glass of Pinot. All those selections in building a new home are absolutely numbing after awhile. My advice is to choose more classic choices in tough to change areas (roof, tile floors, cabinetry), get more personal and trendy with the easy to change door and cabinet hardware, sconces, fans and paint colors.
