do you know how thearge square turtle mosaic was installed? was it laye on top of the large square tiles or was it cut in? Its so hard to tell from this picture. I love this idea and would like to be able to do this in my new shower.

Motherbear do you how these mosaics are inlay end? I have spoken to 4 tile companies who cannot do this

A mosaic tile ARTIST made mine and mounted it on mesh. This was then given to my tile guy. He laid the field tile and cut out the space for the mosaic.....placed mosaic(still on mesh backing) and grouted.

I already have the mosaics - 7 turtles total. The tile guys I have spoken with said the cut detail needs special tools? Do you know what your tile guy used to cut the round edges? The smallest turtle is only 6 inches and the flippers of course are really small. I will be inlaying them into 18 x 18 inch tiles. Some of the turtles will actually be inlaid into 4 different tiles. I am heading to a water jet expert later but I'm afraid of what the cost could be. I will let you know. Thanks again for the information

There's got to be a tiler layer in your area that does more artsy work. Ask a popular local interior designer. Is there a good specialty tile store in your town? Seems like they could recommend someone....that's how I went about it. Good luck.

I found the turtles and just ordered some for my house. I love them! The customer service for ordering at this site is wonderful, too.
