It's a beautiful home. First of all decide the function of the room, will there be a t.v. in the room & where will it be situated. This will determine where the seating will be arranged which will then lead you to the size & configuration of the sofa you need to consider. When you have narrowed down your choices of sofa you then need to fill in the room with occasional chairs & perhaps an area rug, & coffee table then perhaps the windows need to be addressed & finally the accessories. You will get plenty of help on the forum once we know what your vision for the room is.

As for the layout, the photo was taken from the entry area (entrance to room). Wall opposite fireplace might be taken down to open up kitchen and make a more open floorplan. Therefore I have the chairs and sofa floating in the room around fireplace. Regarding the windows, they open out to a view and no one can see inside, due to terraced lot. I haven't planned to do anything with them. I am currently looking for a sofa and coffee table for that area but do not know if I should go for something with straight lines or curved, legs included. I'd like to keep the look light and airy and I am trying to throw in a tropical, organic vibe with the mid century if that is possible. Thanks to you and anyone else who has any ideas.

MCM/organic is exactly the right look! I would go with simple, straight lines on the couch and consider angles/curves in a coffee table and accessories. Its height should be relatively decent so chairs don't feel out of place. The organic feel can be incorporated by your pillows, sculptures, wood, art, and natural fibers. The seat height of the Luna is 18.5. I find it helps to have the seat height relatively the same. I think this sofa shape is good for your room. Can you go see one in person to see if it's comfy? Comfy would be a priority for me, some of them are like sitting on church pews not in a good way.
