Help me with advice/design /layout kitchen remodel

This is a to the studs remodel in a 1911 edwardian. Borrowed some software and need help with design/layout for the kitchen. The pics show what my novice design skills has come up with. Basically there is one straight wall and room for a big island. All the windows are only 28" off floor, so we can't use space under them. The main working wall is 18' long, and the room is about 15' wide. I'm thinking combo 36" range to maximize counter space, instead of wall oven and stovetop.. And a large island with seating. Thinking dishwasher and sink in the island, possibly a microwave too, but not sure about a low microwave. Also thinking of a bar on the far wall.

Thank you for your help.

My comment is there is no symmetry. Why is the range not centered on the wall?

Why is the sink not centered on the island. Rounding the cabinet around a corner is a big waste of space. Why don't you move the refrigerator to the other end and save yourself the hassle of the return. Where is the dishwasher? Not understanding the island either.

This is a big remodel in a quirky space. I suggest you have a kitchen designer take on the project. Many cabinet shops have in-house designers that can give you options you probably wouldn't think of -- that might be a good place to start. Kitchen mistakes are very, very expensive.

I totally agree with getting assistance. I am in the middle of a major kitchen remodel/gut (actually whole house). The planning phase took over a year because making a mistake was not an option. I bet we went through almost a dozen schematics of the kitchen. It is a process, because you think of things as the planning progresses and that is so important. Part of it is learning to prioritize need v want. Next is dealing with the reality of how you cook and utilize the space. That said, it has been driven home to me that if you lack symmetry in the plan the kitchen will forever look off, feel off and not work well for meal preparation.

    Awesome program...
I would relocate the bar to another room, center a cooktop on the island with the hood directly over it and add a deckmount pot-filler ( chairs/breakfast bar surrounding the range).
Farmhouse sink where the range is...

Thank you, this is an initial plan. The comments about the design are the type of things I'm looking for and would love more of. The range can be moved to the center of counter, and the sink too. The dishwasher would be next to sink in the island. The fridge was on that end of the counter, so it would be closer to the main living/dining area. The seating on the island can all be in a row instead of around the corner. I thought it was nice that way to face the rest of the house, which is open space on the other side (see rest of floor), Thanks again, looking forward to more suggestions.

There is nothing wrong with your symmetry or your work triangle. It is all appropriate. I can see you put a lot of thought into this design and I think you've done well. It's smart to offset your sink and stove if you would like this to be a two person kitchen. Just make sure you have 48" between your stove and the island.

PS I am assuming your DW is on the left in this plan, I hope?

Thanks for your comments. Yes, a lot of thought did go into the design. But, I know there always alternate good ideas, that I wouldn't have thought of. You are correct, the DW would be on the left of the sink, and 48" too. Offsetting the sink/stove was the goal for two people to work. But I can see having less offsetting and centering them a bit more. I also offset the sink and wrapped the seating to allow for more of an eating area on that end.

    thanks again

And that was all very smart. I have no idea where the previous poster is getting her ideas. I don't think I'd change anything.

I like the layout the sink is exactly where it should be on the island , close to the fridge and not directly across from the range Make sure to get a counter depth fridge , I would probably have the seating at the island all out of the work space and facing the kitchen hope you put a lazy susan in the left corner and all the rest of the base cabinets are drawers

Thanks Kris and Patricia for your approval and suggestions. Yes, a counter depth fridge is in the plan. Thanks All star plumbing, but I'm not a fan of cooking on an island. Especially with 2 small kids.

I'm Still debating maybe a microwave built in a higher cabinet maybe next to fridge vs pantry cabinet or counter space.
