Yes, 58" would be fine. Definitely lights above as well as any sconces.

Thanks! There will def not be any room for sconces given the size of the mirror and the fact that the vanity on the right side will be up against a wall. Any suggestions on lights above that won't look too small?

Thanks, Judy. If I do a mirror for each sink, I will still have to put light fixtures above mirrors. I love this look with the tall, narrow mirrors, but having hard time finding something on a smaller scale.

I think it really depends on personal preference. I would go with your gut and if you aren't happy over time you can always change it!

I did happen to find 2-20" x 40" mirrors that have a similar look as the pottery barn above. Still don't think I will have room on the right side for a sconce, but def room in the middle now. Afraid one sconce in the middle def will not be enough lighting though....even if I did a sconce with two lights on it.

Btw, where did you get those sconces on the mirror? Love them.

Thank you. I do have to say that my above comment ignored the costs of an electrician for this set up. Because this was a ground-up build, all those costs were built into my budget, kept affordable through a bit of volume. But shoo- after market costs for electrical work can be spendy.

I think the sconces are George Kovacs brand. Except for the LED cans in the ceiling, I purchased all light fixtures for the house from websites. My contractor was comfortable with that, and all of it came in great shape, complete, and with all install specs.

This was a great way to save $$. I got exactly what I wanted and shaved nearly 40% off my total lighting budget, versus shopping at one of the local lighting showrooms. Whoo- those folks have a mark-up that's astounding...

A few of my favorites are below. It's a good idea to sign-up before you buy. A couple of these sites will then recognize you when you log in again and offer additional discounts. The first one, Lighting New York, will even direct you to a live person who will do an even better job than their already discounted prices. The last one, YLighting, doesn't have the greatest discounts on their lights, but their ceiling fan selection is awesome, and they were much less expensive than in a store.

One last thing- do consider talking to a local glass guy for mirrors. They can custom cut to size/shape etc., include framing if you want, and keep the budget in check.
