I'd do Ikea before either of those.

I have a hard time understanding how IKEA Cabinets are better than Fabuwood or Kraftmaid? IKEA cabinets are assembled using metal dowels and Cams. Drawers are assembled using metal dowels and cams. How is that better than plywood box construction with face frames rabbited onto the frame and dovetail drawer boxes? Perhaps I'm missing something?

Metal vs wood isn't quite Superman vs Batman, but it isn't much of a contest as to which one warps less when exposed to humidity and is stronger.

Ikea cabinets are much better quality than their furniture. No one is saying it's Woodmode tho. Fabuwood is dreck. Some people like dreck with a pretty face on it. No accounting for taste when dollars are involved. Some people would cut off their nose to spite their face for $1. Confirmation bias puts blinders on those who drank the koolaid.

I have a client that got a deal on Fabuwood cabinets on craig’s list new in the boxes she had them installed at the same time as her sisiter who i did Ikea cabinets for. The Fabuwood drawers are litterally coming apart the Ikea still perfect there is no proof that Ikea construction is one bit less than all wood I have been doing Ikea cabinets for over 20 yrs and in all that time I have had 1 warranty issue , I have them in my home not because they are cheap but because they last and BTW try to get warranty work done from a Chinese maker GOOD LUCK

I lived in a rental with Kraftmaid, and I thought they were decent cabinets! Being in my first starter home, I have even thought to use Kraftmaid cabinets in my kitchen now because of the cost. Take care of your stuff and you won't have to worry :-)

The rental had also been lived in by multiple other people, so I think that speaks to how they can hold up.

We are in a similar major dilemma. We have quotes from a local shop called KZ kitchen that does China made cabinets and has given us a quote i.e 2k- 2.5k cheaper than Kraftmaid. Our primary reason to lean towards Home Depot is horror stories we have read about Formaldehyde glue in China made cabinets and other toxic chemicals. Can someone please advise? Material safety wise what is a good pick?

Pete Yeomans - You mentioned you put Fabuwood cabinets in your kitchen. How long ago was this and are you happy with them? We are getting ready to start a kitchen renovation project. We have a design and thought we were going to go with Kemper cabinets but feel we need to have another designer come out before we commit to the current potential plan. If we are able to meet with the designer I am interested in, Fabuwood is one of the lines they carry. I am reading reviews that are all over the place so of course would have some concerns.

We installed in October 2016 and have had no problems whatsoever. We love them!

Pete, Thanks for replying. We have an appointment this week to have measurements and a design drawn up then will follow up with checking out this company's line of cabinets, which includes Fabuwood. When you were considering other lines, was there a significant difference in price between Fabuwood and the others?

As far as the reviews being quite varied here, I have heard that Fabuwood has a facility in the US where the cabinets are assembled. If some companies are choosing to put the cabiniets together themselves and they are not being done properly, that could explain the negative reviews.

Going to be purchasing Allure Fabuwood cabinets For those that have previously purchased how are they holding up?

Donna, we love our Fabuwood cabinets. Best decision ever. They were very affordable and still look brand new

Hello! We are considering fabu vs Kraftsmaid now- how has your fabu kitchen held up?

Johnny, we’ve had our Fabuwood cabinets for over 3 years now and are extremely happy with our decision. I would highly recommend to anyone in the market for new cabinets.

Great to know! I was just on their site checking out their products. Accessories look great as well. We are leaning towards their allure galaxy line in indigo blue. Thanks for getting back to me.

I believe ours are galaxy frost . fabuwood was one of several lines carried by a kitchen designer we used and at that time the price difference was pretty significant. The quality is excellent in my opinion. Good luck with your project. I'm sure you will love your new cabinets.

My kitchen cabinets are over four years old and holding up very well. They’re a cream color, I forget the exact name. i wouldn’t hesitate to use them again, especially for the price..

Installed four years ago and they have held up well. Have Fabuwood in our kitchen, pantry, bathrooms and laundry room. Would choose them again. Like the quality and construction of the cabinets. We get many compliments on them too. They were a great value too over some of the other brands we considered. Good luck with your decision
