We just bought a house in northeastern Ohio, and it's got a couple of features I need to work with that I'm unsure of how to incorporate.

The entry into the living room from outside has a good expanse of Cararra marble tiles defining the entry space, and then a large fireplace surround of the same at the other end of the room. The hardwood floors are white oak finished a sort of honey color.

Since the house faces east, and since I'm not a "cool" person, would it be odd to go with a taupe that leans to the warm side of things? I really can't change the marble or floor color, but we're getting ready to purchase a loveseat and pair of chairs so I want to get this set in my mind's eye. I'm leaning to navy or dark grey for the furniture.
