Thanks for the quick ID! I'm horrible at identification - nice to know what it is and growth potential. Ken I do wish it was more blue, and probably not in this exact spot, but dang it was cute in that little red pot :). Will probably wind up limbed up or a Christmas tree. Afraid it will block the weeper behind it. Thanks!

In my opinion it is this tree (Picea pungens) that has caused so many people to hate conifers. They were planted ubiquitously in front of suburban homes as part of foundation plantings and then they grew. And grew. And grew. Not only did they look idiotic and all out of proportion, but they blocked all sunlight from the windows that they covered. That, unfortunately, is what many people think of when someone says 'conifer'.

Ha ha Sara, you should see the front of my house - ginormous trees, but it looks ok - we like it :) Will post some pics, 4 different trees, I think the biggest is a Picea like my little one.

I prefer my trees to my house!
