What is a primed white door?

Can they be painted over? What does that even mean. I'm getting primed white doors in the house because of cost, but I'd like for them to be painted brown when the painters come to match decor. Is this possible?

wood prior to receiving it's finish paint coat(s) must be primed. Priming is a special paint that seals the wood and promote adhesion to the final finish. Many doors now come primed from the factory and are ready for final finishing.

Would I just tell the painters to use a brown paint if I want a brown door? Or should I pice a paint separate from the BM we are using for walls?

Could you stain the door brown? If you change the wall color you'll need to repaint the doors. Or just keep them white to match the trim?

Lee, white doors just isn't an option for me. They are coming primed in white, but my house will be lots of earth greens and Browns and sunset colors. White would look out of place. So I'm thinking of having them painted brown?

A primed white door is ready to be painted. Not stained. it's paint grade material.

HU-22, It's just primer, not a finish coat. so if it's on an exterior location, you'll need to paint it. Besides, a primer coat is ugly.
