Hello,

I'm hoping someone on here can help me identify the organic matter below which is growing in my flower bed as well as in my lawn. It's hard to see in the photo but it's some sort of bulbus growth that comes out of the ground with a 4-inch red stem and the tip is black (kind of muddy looking). When they first appear they are usually covered in flys and if I pull them out of the ground they leave behind a white bulb in the ground. I'm going to try to get a better picture but they grow in bunches and I can't seem to get rid of them no matter what I do.

Can someone help me identify what it is and how to get rid of it (or even if it's something I should be getting rid of it).
