The architect is correct - that's a modern house. Your're getting good advice about not trying to make it a different style.

I'd run both the carpenter's ideas past the architect. Not exactly sure what he is suggesting about the porch. As far as the garage windows, I like windows in a garage. Maybe add another 2 to the right, to balance the existing ones.

Listen to the architect. Nice mid century home you have there. I prefer cement siding. Take s look at mid century home photos on Houzz to see if you can get some inspiration. This house will be awesome

Agreed. Very nice MCM house, with out the bay windows. This could be one awesome house.

Replace the bay windows. Since you have so little brick I would paint it to match the house. Can you repaint or must you reside?
