Color scheme for room?

As I look to add decor such as pillows, throws, and accessories on the entertainment center - what colors should I stick with?

Accent chairs are a jade green-teal, sofa is gray, and rug is navy and white. Our style is clean/elegant farmer. The room opens up to the kitchen which is white and dark granite.

Blue and green can look great together, and also go well with your cream walls, but one should be the focus and one the accent. The gray sofa seems disconnected with everything else. I would remove the gray pillows and use deep blue ones instead, with a cream throw. Paint the door the same blue as your rug. Add a wood coffee table. Keep the colors focused on creams and blue, with just the green accent chairs. Woven wood shades would look great on your windows.

Totally agree on the pillows! The sofa just arrived and those are just the stock ones. So if I did two navy pillows- what color would the one accent pillow be? The green chairs are hard to match because sometimes they look green and sometimes teal. A built in entertainment center is cherry from where I'm taking the photo but that will be either white or light gray. I'm more of a gray person than cream or beige ... What about grays or natural instead of creams?

Lastly, I'm stuck on the coffee table. There's so much wood... The beams, the pine floors, the breakfast table, the white kitchen cabinets and soon to be white/gray entertainment... What is the safest coffee table?

Find some pillows to tie in the teal with the navy. Right now it doesn't make sense. I will take a look around. Are you wanting a coffee table?

I love your sofa and space; agree cream and navy would be great, and would love to see how a scenario w/bright yellow in the pattern might work. I would look for a pillow that pulls navy/teal/cream/yellow and then add additional pillows that coordinate...cream texture etc. Finding the right fabric can be a process but when you find it you will know!!! Enjoy the hunt!

Kris, it's more of a jade green than teal so it's hard to find this exact color! Yes looking for a coffee table. I love the idea of getting two small ones and putting them together and having the flexibilty to move them easily around.

Round glass table w/metal or driftwood base might be nice added texture to room.

i was thinking the same thing for a as a glass coffee table but worry about babies hitting the glass??
Well Im thinking the other direction. Lose the blue rug and focus on grey, green, black and white. Use lots of different shades of green. To me that is an elegant, refreshing combo. The blue is the out of place element to me. Try putting your finger over the blue rug and see how nice the room looks. You still need a rug Id just go with a different one. The blue and green isnt working well for me.

That marble will be just as bad with babies. I do like the woven grass coffee tables.

Hi! I'm not a designer but for what it's worth, I would not go with any kind of glass furniture if you have babies. I have small children (read: not in kindergarten yet) and there is just no way I would have any kind of glass furniture around them. No matter how much you can try to teach a young child to be careful and not to touch, accidents can happen and my grandmother always says that no matter how much of the mess you think you've cleaned up that 'glass speaks' and you'll find even a tiny shard or two weeks later. That all being said, what about a nice low, round coffee table (no sharp corners)? You could paint if it happens to be wood and you don't want a wood look. As far as accents, I'd try to find something that has a nice jade/teal and navy print in it for the pillows or throws--or--and I'm going to break every "design rule" by throwing this out there--what about something like plum? The teal and navy remind me of jewel tones, and a pop of plum would look rich, warm, and fun in your space. But that's just my two pennies!

Sorry y'all, I have no idea how to insert the images!

Danielle, I first bought a rug EXACTLY like the middle one you posted from homegoods but returned it because it just looked blah. My favorite part of the room is the navy rug. The chairs look nicer when they are more teal during the day with the natural light.

How about coral and silver??...these colors are fabulous with jade, navy and grey.... kitchen's colors go well with coral and silver as well.

A nice tufted ottoman for a coffee table would look elegant and safer for children.

    What color ottoman?

Read your delimma and what came to my mind was cherry red as an accent color and a lucite cocktail table.....modern and will add some contrast to the room.....generally a small dose of accent is found three places in the room.

Wall sculpture, martini table, throw pillows and neutral cocktail table which can be lucite.

Just caught the little ones insert and agree that round soft and colorful or woven grass would be good choices. I have never had a cocktail table because of little ones.....

go with a metal round coffee table or an ottoman as other suggested...it will be great w/ kids. Love the rug and grey couch! not positive on the green chairs but I bet they look better in person. Finish the room off w/ some pillows and it will look perfect!
Now you got me!! I think you should pick the colors for your accent pillows and then choose a color for the ottoman. I still think that coral and silver would look great for the pillows, and then I would probably pick a neutral color for the ottoman. You got grey, navy and white, jade. Maybe a darker grey??

You can order an armored glass. With sanded round corners or so. Check out my artwork, I created several tables for glass tabletops, and a lot of more. Can create one of a kind table or anything for your space. God bless!

I'm just going to drop some pictures here. You could do two small round or square ottomans with trays. Pair gray with wood or navy, navy with wood.

I love the rug & sofa, not too keen on chair color, maybe a slipcover over chairs. pull colors for pillows from both rug & sofa. I also like the tufted ottoman idea, maybe a storage ottoman to hide kids stuff.

Art ideas good luck I guess blue and teal could work!

Anyone have any thoughts on the accent pillows I posted here? I could pair one of these with two navy.

I like the first pillow in your lineup, and the second from the bottom (the one with the swirls!)

I love your sofa, chair and rug. But in IMO, the sofa and rug look amazing together, so do the sofa and chair. The sofa brings all together, but the jade chair and navy blue and white rug are not a good marriage. I would either place the chair somewhere else or the rug. By placing either piece somewhere else, it would be much easier to pick colors for throws, pillows, ottoman coffee table and other accents. Maybe it's just me. ;)

I like the greenish and navy together!

You're the only one that matters...you and your family that is. If you like jade and navy together, these are the best colors for your space, then. I still stick my color palette....silver and coral for pillows, navy blue throws, a couple jade color lumbar pillows for the sofa as well and a darker grey tufted ottoman for your coffee table.
