Agree. The production isn't going to be anywhere near what it was, if you even get any ripe fruit at all. I tried two or three years ago letting my determinate plants regrow after I had cut them back. In my location there just isn't really enough time left in the season for them to regrow, flower, and ripen fruit.

Yeah its too late in the season to replant and possibly getting to the end of setting fruit that will ripen by frost. So I'll just ride this plant out and hope for a few more! Thanks guys!

Agree that it is probably too late now - depending on where you live. But replacing it now isn't what i meant. Sorry I wasn't clear.

If you had replaced it a month or so ago when it was damaged or even when the majority of the existing fruit had reached color break then you'd be well ahead of the game now.

Holy cow I have wanted to ask some of this to my 'Facebook family', many of whom are avid gardeners!

About 2 months ago my 4 heirloom beefsteak plants each produced 4-5 tomatoes. I was a little bummed out, hoping for more, but kept watering, hoping for the best. Well, a month ago I 'side bedded' Epsom salts into the soil of each plant and then BAM! within 2 days they were greener and growing. Holy COW did they grow! And about 2 weeks ago they all started flowering, and guys.... let me tell you, hand to GOD, there are at least 20 tomatoes on 3 of them, and a good 15 on the 4th!! It's OCT 14th!! And they're STILL developing little marble sized toms after flowering! The first go round was terribly disappointing, but I'm really excited for these new guys to ripen; my question is WILL they? Here in the upstate of SC we have mid seventies during the day, and in the 50's at night.... I know the bigger guys will ripen in the next week, but why are all of them still producing like there's literally no tomorrow, LOL?
