oh that quartzite is gorge w/those pulls!!! love it. plain backsplash though. I want to see this all finished if you get that stone!! If you do a subway splash, look at the grout that contains a fine gold glitter (not 1st grade kid glitter! More of a mica dust glitter!) or the Shluter brass inlay edging.

Definitely the second option. Also, love the brass pulls.

I really like the first one for the reason lor23 said and also because you lose so much of that (gorgeous) movement once that slab gets cut down.

They both have the same overall look, and both have warm tones in them that would work well with the brushed brass hardware. Personally it all depends on your budget--if you love the quartzite and the extra cost is not going to affect your lifestyle, go for it. If after the $$ is spent you won't miss it, then get the quartzite. If you are going to have to skimp on something else, eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a year, or forgo your next 3 vacations, then get the granite. And I agree that the brass in the backsplash would be overkill.

smitrovich, was that a jab at me? I never said anything about Emtrek (I own some of their items) I merely mentioned that you can find the same thing for a better price elsewhere. And I posted the blingy pulls as a little joke because she said she like sparkle! Wasn't actually advocating she use them in her kitchen and have it look "tacky". Thank you for that.
