Thank you guys! Snookums and sableincal-. Thank you! Very good points! I called Heath and they said the tiles should be easy to keep clean and I shouldn't have an issue. But I think the oval would be easier to clean. It would only be on one wall of the shower.

- April and Tibbrix - I think I agree on the oval over the creased looking at the pics now.

-Tibbrix - It's more like a red color. I like it too, but I think it might be too red for me. Heath is sending some orange samples though! :)

-Do you guys think the dimension tiles are TOO busy? Maybe I should just stick with the chalk color in a field tile. There is variation in the tile shape and color, so I don't think it would look like a white wall. Maybe I should do that instead and use the oval tile elsewhere in the house?

will you show us the orange when you get it? Too busy? Not for a bathroom, and esp. an MCM bath. I think they're really fun, and really no different than a brick wall, for example, which never looks too busy. I think they're great.

Thanks Tibbrix! I don't think they Have an orange in a color similar to what I was wanting - as in my guest bath that I will be ripping out. But I will definitely post pics. Here is a pic of some of the colors I got. I also really like the green. I am thinking I may use their tiles in the three guest baths also.

I like the pale yellow one at the top and the teal tile in the middle of the second row, but the teal would probably show every spec of dust and water stain.

I love both those tiles and I've been lusting after the oval for years, contemplated using it in our kitchen. But, I will be the odd one out, I think I prefer the crease in this application. I love it paired with that green field tile. It seems far less busy than the oval to my eye. It's going to be a gorgeous bathroom.

I like both but I lean toward crease as it's more subtle, but I think the oval is more MCM.

Caution with a white floor...I had one in my teeny powder room and hated it. Showed every speck and drove me crazy.

Thank Sochi and joaniepoanie. I am swaying back towards the crease also but I am torn. I liked it because it is more subtle. I was thinking I could do the oval on the fireplace, but then I don't know if the pattern would conflict with the red rock in the room too.

Sochi- I really want to get yellow and green in somehow! Thank you for the compliment on the bathroom!

Joanie- I have to have white. Hopefully it won't be too bad. The water here is very hard and actually lighter hides the calcium deposits better.

Not to muddy the waters, but Porcelanosa has some very nice large format dimensional tile that would probably be a lower price point and easier to clean than either of the Heath tiles.

Why not put the crease around the FP?

Tile is easy peasy to clean, it's the grout that is a pain! Plan for small grout lines if you can, no matter that they say, you can do them really, really thin. Larger tiles=less grout. Just some food for thought from a ceramic tile owner and lover.

I am also wondering if I should just do the 3x9"" tiles with no 3D. I think there would be enough variation in the tiles that it wouldn't look like a white wall. One rep told me she thinks that is more beautiful then the 3D. Also maybe I could do a green wall and a yellow niche.

I love the oval tile. Subtle, it's not! Maybe use it on an wall outside of the shower if you are worried about cleaning it. Personally, I would not worry too much about cleaning the dimensional tile. As someone else said, it's the grout that's a bear to clean, not so much the tile.

Use Powergrout. It has sealant in it. More expensive but definitely worth it. Nothing gets through it.

I like the oval much better. On the tile color samples I love the first one at the top that blue, what is the name of the color do you know? I decided to go with blues in my flood make over. I second using the grout with sealer in it. We used the Mapai flex color cq it's wonderful stuff. Definitely not cheap but very worth it. I made them use it everywhere.

I thought of you when I was at my granite and tile shop. He had a new display of this very large format ceramic in the marble color you are looking for your bathroom it is amazing comes in multiple finishes just like marble the honed was gorgeous. I believe it was in 24 x 48 slabs. It is called Eleganza. The website doesn't do it justice. If you can find it locally go look at it. I wish I had found it before I did my master bathroom!

Soap scum can be a bugger to clean off of shower tiles. I would keep it simple and use the dimensional tiles elsewhere.

THank you guys!!! I spoke with the ID and this is what she thinks- all oval tile will be too busy. She suggests a "random" pattern of the oval throughout the shower, interspersed among similar sized no dimensional field tile. She suggested one band of color one tile length off the floor - maybe in green. What do you think? I like her idea.

Hi rockybird, can we see your finished project? We are now looking to do two MCM bathrooms and also love the Heath dimensional tiles (and all Heath and also Fireclay). We also will have walnut cabinetry. Would love to see what you decided in the end and how all turned out!

Hi Rani, believe it or not, it's not finished! I'll post a pic soon. I ended up with custom fireclay dark blue (with a hint of teal) tiles and terrzzo floors. Structure is still being built though!
