106 near Disneyland. Poor people on vacation! It was the day for the beach instead. Yesterday felt worse with the stronger wind but the plants took a beating today and yesterday and I feel bad for them. This is the weather that kills older possums and raccoons.

I had the same day as you - it was 97° this afternoon, and yesterday it was 94°. Fortunately I am at home this week and can water my plants in the morning to cool them down. Some of my chili plants get wilted in this heat. Except for watering, I am staying inside. I've never known it to be as hot as it was today.

Stan if I knew you were having vapors I would have come by with smelling salts and a fan.

It was 89F here at midnight last night! Horrible!

104 here (north San Diego county) yesterday. They're saying 94 for a high today, but I usually add about 10 degrees because for whatever reason they always underestimate how hot it's going to be in my area by about 10 degrees. Not looking forward to today.

The gardening upside (if you can call it that) is that most of my plants got fried to a crisp a couple months ago with our terrible heat and I haven't replanted much other than my winter tomatoes, which are doing fine along with the summer peppers. I'd like to get some greens and cole crops in the ground though. It's been a long, hot, dry greenless summer down here.

It was record heat here in Hayville. 98F vs the old 94F set in 1958. Boy,I was just days old back then. Funny to think I would still be around for warmer.

lol it was a cool 99 here in Fresno. Seriously, it felt like a break from the endless weeks of 100+

I didn't count yesterday but I think it was about 100ish. Too hot for me!!! But... it could be worse. Last year was worse, I think.

Still what am I saying? We have 2 to 3 months of summer left here!! Even though it's "fall." Well I guess I am thankful for my aloes. They keep going and look happy when nothing else does. I really adore them. My friend and I happened by a succulent and bromeliad show, on the Westside in LA, a while back... and it was a great show and we adopted a bunch of plants. Most are still with us! Some tree kinds, baby ones. So so cute.

91° here. cherry trees are burning up in the heat but my banana is doing great!
