Thank you all so much ! Your input and advice has helped open my eyes to a couple of things. I am not sure I truly want to go glam maybe a hint of it but if like to keep the room as traditional as possible. I am going to be putting up the curtains soon and will post pictures. I have a lamp I plane on trying out on the corner where the window is. Also any idea on what size I should consider, I measured out with tape 5x8 but it definitely doesn't seem big enough for the sectional which is 9x8. I am still on the hunt for something beautiful and timeless for that big wall. Here are some pictures of the size I taped up, thanks :)

Okay so I am posting some more pictures because I am completely lost on what to do with this room. I put the curtains up and as much as I like it I need to get curtains that actually fit that window. My question is if this is your blank palette to work with (I do not want to paint) and cannot get rid of any furniture (except the small tv stand which is going to go in my bedroom) what would you do?? I am really struggling here and need to put this place together already so I can move onto the rest of the house! Any and all suggestion are greatly appreciated! Like I've mentioned before I like traditional with a slight touch of glam but a lot of "drama" I'm not afraid of dark colors I just don't have a large space to work with and already have this huge black hole (couch sucking up all the light/space). To be truthful I am more curious on what kind of "style" you guys think will best fit this space. Thanks all so much :) also the last photo was the only one I could find so far of the couch reversed, curious to here other opinions on whether I should move it back? I put it the way it is now to try and separate the living from dining but I'm not sure if its making it just feel more compact/small.

The sectional looks good in the corner too, but not so squished in the corner. Either way, I think you need an interesting accent chair to round out the conversation area. You want a little classic glam? Believe it or not, a leopard or cheetah print rug (a nice looking animal print) is classic. Adding sparkle for a little glam (But not too delicate) with the bulky sofa.

Darzy I never would of thought of animal print but I actually like the idea of a classic room. I guess I'm just afraid to pull the trigger on a rug like that. I wonder if it would look better with the cut out animal print over the sisal or the one you suggested for $110 (which by the way awesome price). I'm very open to this idea but I'm concerned about the accent chair since there isn't much room left in that space IMO. Yes Create there is little to no room for a chair there maybe a small ottoman? I also think an arched lamp is a great idea for that small spacing between couch and wall! Darzy I've been looking at some zebra prints for rug but I can't find any at a decent price. Idk I still feel so lost with this room and how to tie it all together.

first off, the moulding is truly fabulous. I was thinking you could play up the black and white and do a fun accent color. I'm sure getting rid of your fiancé's enormo sofa-sectional is not an option so make everything else super fabulous to distract from it. fun, bold black and white pillows and accents would help and also large accessories would help distract. try ZGallerie for affordable accessories. The moulding is so beautiful....make it stand out by painting walls a sandy khaki and moulding black. That will give it an elegant feel. Good luck, I know decorating around a significant other can be tough.

You loved this one and it is pretty. Tell hubby $415 is not a bad price for a large rug that is nearly 8 x 10. Plus, also tell him comparably its usually $1,700. If you love it...get it!

Hi all sorry I have been busy all weekend it was my son Samuel's 2nd birthday! Okay I actually moved my couch and got a couple picture some in panoramic view so you guys can get an idea of the space I'm working with. I am open to colors but I do prefer the monochromatic look but I am also open to deep colors I just don't "love" bright colors like yellow or bright greens. I will post some pictures.

yes, when you do a lot of monochromatic the point is to have lots of art. I will say i can not advise on mirror, i do not have any really. I would always go with original art.

The wall trims are similar in shape to the table you posted - it looks informal and simple, ok. The lamp is pictured with wall trim.... "must be ok"! ;-)

That seemed like console tone, with this maybe for more texture? 30" for $120. In a way, with dark neutrals around, a red-brown would add warmth. And about window blinds - aren't they still practical, and could hang fabric over them? Maybe a sheer, or semi-sheer since they're such coverage.
