No not at all downbytheriver..:)) if you are directing that to me...also just giving info..I thought you misunderstood my suggestions...they have all been plug-in chandeliers..if it states plug-in it will have a plug and average length cord 15'..only ones I have seen shorter are from IKEA...so hopefully she will check all info if ordering or buying one...you always have great ideas and advise..

@home interiors, I finally settled on the layout I like for my living area, and kept the coffee table. I posted a pic earlier, but my bed was on the left when you walk into the space. Now it is on the right side, like in this picture...

I found these lamps either from you, or from a link you posted that led me to it,

And I want to hang them on either side of the sofa, low enough to look like table lamps, except there won't be any tables underneath them! That's my nonexistent creative side that comes out every now and then. LOL.

I also want to get something like this

To act as my room divider. I feel like this is too tall, but the idea of a TV stand with bookshelves on either side is the goal. I want to use the blank canvas on the side that will be facing my bed as a photo wall. And I'm still on the hunt for a dining table. I found a small round gray table online at World Market,

but think it may be too small. So basically, I'm still undecided on that :(

So where are you going to put the TV stand/bookcase. Will it be directly across from your sofa?

@shirlpp it will be at the foot of the bed, so a little off center from sofa (but still a great view of TV). This would put the divider on the left when watching TV from the sofa.

@homeInteriors.. i am getting a table at the end of next month, im still toying with what to do here........thanks for asking.

dee dee, I dont think you should have you tv in front of your bed i think it will actually draw more attention to it. plus you will see cords from the back side.

What about just getting a TV stand for the TV and leaving it where it is. You can then use a bookcase as the divider.

What about a glass table top. Sorry, but I am not liking the legs on the table that you are showing.

@shirlpp you mean for the dining table? I originally wanted glass top, but I'm not really liking anything I've seen so far. I actually like the legs on this table, compared to what I've seen. And a separate TV/bookcase might be the way to go. Still a work in progress!

Super glam if you added a stripe of this peel and stick wallpaper from Target on one wall..to add design and personality....they come in I think 12"-18" wide rolls so no cutting it is the perfect width for a band around your space...

the last one is under $200 and the first two are over $800. I originally thought I wanted a glass or mirrored top with chrome base but couldn't find anything I liked. Although I like the one that Home Interiors just posted. Since I couldn't find what I liked, I figured I'd have better luck looking for a weathered gray or white wood table. But they are either too big, too small, or too expensive. I don't want to spend more than $350 (and I feel like even that's pushing it).

like your layout now. it looks so much larger but..... I would get a dresser to do double duty for clothes and other storage and to set your TV on. turn the couch to face the TV as in groveraxles first room layout. the chaise will act as a partial room division while still keeping the feel open. looks like it would be hard to watch the way it is now. if the TV were mounted on that wall with a adjustable angle mount you could also watch it from bed. it looks like you have the rug pushed up against the wall. it should be about a foot away.

I like the idea of just ceiling mounted sheer drapes as a divider for your bedroom just to give it privacy when you don't want to look at it all the time, but mainly to take up the least amount of room. they could be open, closed fully or partially. sheers will give a little privacy without feeling claustrophobic.

maybe you can find some with a little glam built in with silver thread as in this fabric.

I personally prefer some of the other divider options people have provided simply for size - allow more usable floor space for you and i wouldnt want people watching tv where they also are drawn to my bedroom area. But thats just ne. If you have books you need a place for them as well and perhaps this canibet bedt meets your wants, needs and your pleasure palette. Ultimately if you have found a room divider you like go with it. Cords from TV hanging out on bedroom side? This is what we 'have no fear, try it if it doesn't work you know better next time' type of people work out solutions sometimes by fluke luck. This is an ideal job for a electric drill with circular cutting blades. I am a power tool junky so have this stuff but I imagine you could find someone you know or a friend of a friend do for you. Drill hole, drop all cords through, probably would try powerbar inside to plug all the cords into then you have one hole size of powerboat ot extension plug end to pull through down low out the side and plug into wall. No mess, very little fuss. Reminder- drapes but deal with them when you can find sale on one's you like on sale or by them when you can afford them. I also took those blinds and turned them up fully to the open position while leaving them where they were. It actually let in lots of light and because they were turned up instead of down kept good privacy. Warning with this though. These look like the older blinds where this works well. Some of the newer blinds curve into each of the progressive 'slats' a bit differently to as an 'improved' look. When you crank them fully to be open they do not maintain a good privacy factor certainly not one I would be comfortable with especially in my bedroom. Just a heads up. BTW I do think you need to pull that rug out more as suggested. It would provide a less cramped more polished look.e

I see, the Renaissance is 74" long and that is too long. The Azalea is 1700.00 - way too much. You liked the Cordova from WorldMarket and the 36" diameter would be fine for your space.

Will it seat 4? I saw this at Home Goods, but feel it's too small for 4.

I also found 2 table lamps, same as the floor lamp that I wanted, both were less than the floor lamp alone would have been.

I did like the swag lamps, but the cords were only 9' long and I would have needed several extension cords to make it happen.

I've been thinking of moving my bed back to the wall behind the kitchen for the purpose of not having my TV on the other side of it. Plus, I would be able to watch TV from my bed if it's back on that side of the room. I also think I like the sheer curtain divider idea best. I don't really need a bookcase, and I think a media cabinet that's got compartments will suffice for any reading material. I saw this one, but want to find something more within my budget

A 48" round table fits 4 adults...can't tell what size that one is..pretty cute might only be a 38".. I love the little Chrystal lamps and actually feel you need side table you have room for them the way you have it set up...you could do sheer curtains on the side of bed and put a nice sideboard or dresser on the side wall so that tv can be viewed from bed or sofa just by turning tv...you can get a swivel for your tv that sits on top of cabinet.

How would you feel about stucco on the whole fireplace? Since you're committed to keeping the fireplace, that might reduce it visually as a presence, especially if the walls and stucco were the same color. You really do have an eclectic decor--just thought this might work!

I think you need at least 36" to seat 4. Also, that glass table with the cabriole legs that Home Interiors posted is 2 pieces. The legs are 357.00 and the top is about 139.00....I was wondering that if you really liked it, maybe you could get the base now and the top later.

Hmmmm..my friend has 36" round and 4 of us have sat down for lunch - yes it was a bit tight.

please look online for the tv hutch that piece from home goods is way over priced. wayfair would have free shipping on something like this.... just saying. that table barely fit two! i think a high top table maybe the best option for small and seating 4

If you are spending $500 I would consider this gorgeous navy blue media cabinet from cb2...much more modern...would look great with your navy blue sofa/chaise!

There's a company called International Concepts that makes unfinished furniture. You can paint it whatever color you'd want. This is a link on the walmart site, however, it is sold by Wayfair. Look at the bottom of the screen also when you get there, because there are others that might interest you. You might be able to find something that is close in style to what you've seen at HG.

Home Interiors, if I go for a round table or rectangular table, what size would I need for either if I need 24"/person? I calculated that 24x4=96, but I'm not sure how to convert that to a round table. I'm thinking at least 48"long for a rectangular shape if I go that route. Thanks in advance!

48" is comfortable length for seating 4 people. It could be a little smaller. I have a Parsons table that is 36" on a side. Uncomfortable for 4. It's not my only table and is usually used only for 2. For round, a circumference of 96" = about 30" diameter. A bit larger would be better because that round has no corners (of course).

I think 48" is the best size for 4 people..what is the measurement of the area it will be in? That will help me help you:))

Home Interiors, the space I want to put the dining table and chairs in is about 8ftx7.5ft

Ok a 48" will be to large...I would try to find a 34-38" round than put it in the space with a bench against the wall and 2 chairs.

Will a 34-38" round seat 4 comfortably? I would want 4 chairs to go with it. I wouldn't mind a squared or rectangular table if I'm going for the bench look (which I actually love).

Will fit 4 snug...getting chairs that are not much wider than 22" will help. Yes a square or rectangular if you can find a smaller size 2 adults on bench and 2 chairs. I will see what I can find...works market might be a good place to look.
