Kid's bathroom tile (size, material, pattern, which blue, floor)?

Hey there-

Picking out some options for a new construction project and designing a kid's bathroom (needs to be co-ed). I am limited in terms of which vendors I can use and looking for some advice on the following for a shower enclosure:

1. What size tile is most classic (4x4, 6x6, 3x12, 4x12)?

2. Will ceramic or glass work in a kids bathrroom?

3. Any feedback on the following options:
Marazzi - Turchese, 4x12 (top in photo of 4 tiles)
daltile - Aqua Glow OR Ocean Blue (4x4, 6x6, 3x6, 4x12) (2nd row in photo of 4 tiles)
Walker Zanger, Cafe, Water Gloss, 3x12
Walker Zanger - 6th Ave, Pale Blue Sky (6x6, 3x6, 4x12)

4. Any suggestions on a floor to match a bright blue shower enclosure?
- current thinking is a natural stone mosaic for more texture / traction; something like:
MSI arabescato-carrara - Octagaon with black and white

As an FYI, vendors available through the builder are: Arizona Tile, Daltile, Marazzi, MSI Stone, Walker Zanger

For context, the vanity is dark grey and topped with dark grey quartz and the walls are Fossil (greige).

Why on earth that color for a shower, IMO bathrooms are best done in neutral colors with large format tile to keep grout lines to a min. add color with towels and when you are sick of blue you change the towels those black and white tile will be filthy in no time with white grout think long term when doing new construction that is my advice with kids the less cleaning the better and show them all how to use a squeegee in the shower . The rule in our house was no squeegee when you shower gets you the job of cleaning the shower on the week end

Consider neutral colors, for a timeless look. Bring color into the bathroom with accessories- baskets, rug, towels etc.

I would stick with Dal Tile products. No need to go with multi vendors when they will have everything you're looking for, they even deal with MSI. Walker Zanger products are extremely expensive and not worth the price, IMO.
As far as coloring, I like your selections thus far. Fun! Without seeing photos of your cabinets and counter it's a little hard to help you choose the right colors for you.

Thanks for the feedback. The builder is telling me the Daltile colors are custom order so the prices are higher than normal. To put it in context the Marazzi (matte) is 25% the cost of the Daltile and the Walker Zanger tiles are ~125% of the price of the Daltile (if we went with a standard color the price would be the same as Marazzi).

Unfortunately for me, there is not much transparency in terms of pricing from the builder in terms of how much credit I receive for not taking the standards vs what I am being charged for labor and materials for an upgrade.

Attached is a picture of the cabinet color ("battleship grey") and counter top which is almost the same color as the cabinets ("concrete grey" from DalTile or maybe "raven" from Caesarstone)

Still wondering why the blue in any case and why that color in a really expensive tile makes no sense , builders are notorious for keeping their prices under their shirts so I would still go with a neutral from the line that is considered the standard for a kids bathroom plus the fact a neutral palette allows change all the time

Neutral palette for tiles, then put a vibrant blue on the walls. That way you can change it up when you are ready but still get the color punch you are looking for.
