I don't think you can do much beyond keeping kitty's environment safe. Anything around the house or yard which could be dangerous should be changed or removed. It will learn on its own what works and what doesn't work. Showing her the way out of things as you have done is great. Of course the best bet would be to keep it inside all the time. Indoor cats can have happy lives.

I agree, I would consider him to be an indoor cat because he won't have a way to protect himself. But just like people who are born with disabilities adapt, the kitten will also adapt and make due by using his senses of smell and hearing to compensate for what he's missing. For example, he may not be able to see his toys, but if they have catnip in them or a bell attached, he'll still be able to play. Same thing with his bed, if you put a little catnip in it, he'll know it's for him.. Just keep his bed, his food and his box in the same spot so he doesn't get confused.

Being an indoor cat really isn't the end all for cats, just give him lots of love and affection and he'll do fine.

My deaf cat stays inside except for when I take him in the backyard and I sit and watch him sniff around. Otherwise he is like a normal cat inside.

One of my rescue organization's dog is blind since birth. The foster mom's dog leads him around and "guards" against any hazards. Except for some initial bumping into walls, he plays, eats and behaves just like a sighted dog. We are crossing our fingers that she will adopt:)

Thank you so much for all your replies. Like you said, I think keeping my cat indoors would be the only best option for him.

A partially blind cat should not be outdoors. It's too dangerous for him. Indoors, he should do fine, he will get used to the layout of the house, as long as you don't move furniture around a lot.
