Starting the tea thread early.....

Good Morning!

My tea today is my morning cup of decaf coffee. We have the Keurig and I really enjoy the k cups because I get to try various coffees.

So far my favorites are Gevalia and Green Mountain Breakfast.

I usually drink my tea later I usually drink my tea later in the day so I will stop by and see what everyone is up to.

Today will be a relaxing day for me with nothing planned. Weather here will be in the 60's and cloudy.

missouri, what state are you looking in?

I'm thinking about picking up sticks and branches. Another gray cloudy day.

I've met another "cousin" through genealogy so we've spent some time comparing notes.

I'm trying to buy some overhead doors on CL but the person keeps changing the details of the listing. I think they listed them cheap hoping to get rid of them and then were surprised at the response. It's now turned into an auction. Today is the last day I am going to participate. Maybe they weren't meant to be mine.

We're in Texas Imhappy. Craigslist doesn't allow auctions or bidding. I understand the desire to get more money when you've listed higher, but the seller is supposed to go with the first person who wants it.

The appraiser just left. Boy was he a glum guy! I hope he appraises it high enough. After all this packing, I'd hate to have to start over.

Missouri, sorry if I missed what is happening in your life.

You are trying to sell your house and move?

I had quite a busy day. The morning was so busy that I didn't get tea, coffee or breakfast before I had to head out.

Last night my neighbor offered me her pink rose bush - they are redoing the two little gardens on either side of the front steps. I am happy to take it, for one reason that my neighbor will still get some enjoyment in seeing it every day even though it is in my garden now. So this morning, I needed to move a little yellow rose bush, take out some coneflower and then dig the hole for the pink rose bush. Then I finally had to dig the pink one up and move it over to my garden. That sucker was heavy. It's a very full bush. So I got it in the ground and watered. I hope that it will make it. I will feel bad if it croaks after she has given it to me.

From there I had to head over to my sister's house. Her email wasn't working and having just gone through this with my brother-in-law, I pretty much knew what to do about it. Sure enough, I fixed it in a jiffy. Then a spent a little time on Find A Grave, getting information on the my brother-in-law's relatives back in West Virginia. He was so tickled to get the information, including a copy of his maternal grandfather's death certificate!

Then I came on home and got a couple of things done around here, including taking the pups for a nice walk. We have gotten warm again. It's 80 degrees right now. Very pleasant. Carmelita wants to lay out on the front porch and I am thinking that would be splendid.

Eld6161, we have a contract on our house and are buying land. We plan on building a barndominium there. But there is a month and a half between the closing of our house and the land, so we've been scrambling trying to find somewhere to live short term. Once we have the barn framed, we can get electricity and then move a travel trailer out there.

murrysmom, that rose bush sounds nice. I have never been able to grow one.

    Enjoy your creative process LL!

Missouri, there is a rose for every area. They are easy to grow, once you find the right one : )

I've given up on the garage doors. She was just jerking me around. She advertised them in half the counties in Iowa. For the $250 price that would not have been necessary. Then to add to the listing that the openers were an additional $100. Then emailed me back to say cash. Each reply was something new.

Chilly this morning. The heat came on which surprised me. and there was frost on the lawns down the hill from me. I had chai latte.

I am working on arrangements for a guy to come and haul away various things, possibly tomorrow morning or evening. The old mattress, a pile of bricks from a chimney I took out. A friend pleaded for the bricks and never took them. grrr. They'll clean out stuff that has been in the cellar since before I moved in (ahem, 29 years ago) and some I've added since. Including some really tatty shelf units.

I will be able to put in some nicer shelves for the potatoes and onions I'll be harvesting this weekend.

I am not getting rid of the old iron sink/drainboard that was down there when I moved in. One day I will get a base built for it and plumb it with a garden hose for a yard sink.

I left my old double basin 2 ton sink that was plumbed in my basement. I don't use it very often but it's there when I need it.

    Skunk update. Zero. Possums 2.

After I take my nursing home friend to a jewelry sale at the nursing home, another friend and I are meeting a 3rd friend tomorrow to dumpster dive in her town. It's town clean up day and they can set anything out on the curb and the town will pick it up Saturday. I need more stuff.

Cool and raining today. I'm really tired of the rain. I have windows to caulk!

Imhappy, we have a day like that. I call it Big Trash Day. It's done over 3 weekends actually and you can get some really great stuff for free! Years ago I got a really nice old platform rocker that had that scratchy green fabric on it, from the 40s or 50s. I had it reupholstered and I love it. I've gotten quite a few things and more importantly have gotten rid of a LOT of things over the years! Happy hunting!!

the trash haul guys are coming this afternoon. I'm really looking forward to this.

My old sink will go at the far end of the carport, just under the roof. I dye yarn in the carport several times a year and having running water and drain, even if it is into a bucket will be really helpful. It will also be useful for setting up a summer canning prep area. I just have to find or build (or have built) a sink base that can handle windblown rain and snow, summer heat and winter cold and south sun exposure. The enamel is worn off in places around the drain. Anyone know how to fix that cheaply? Can I just spray on a rustoleum type finish?
