I was thinking about matching closer to the countertops because the white cabinets seem so stark against the beige earth tone countertops. I hear what everyone is saying and I'm considering not reprinting the cabinets. Still unsure. Thanks to all.

Just thought I would add a general comment about the dangers of viewing and making any decisions about colour without being in the actual room with the items. Colour is all about light, and all of us out here in Internet land are looking at a photograph of your kitchen on our screens which are all calibrated differently. So none of us are actually seeing a good enough representation to give anything but an off the cuff general reaction.

It's also impossible to tell at this end exactly what the undertone of your benches or your kitchen colours are. And I would never make a decision on a colour selection without seeing it and the sample in the space, in good daylight.

What I also know from working for many years in residential interiors specialising in colour is that if you 'the client' are reacting negatively to your space, then it's not working for you. And whilst most people love white kitchens, white can be very stark and it sounds to me that it's too stark for you.

So assuming you are prepared to spend some time and or money making the change then that makes sense to me, as long as you choose the right colour.

As I've already said it's completely ill advised to select colour without being in the room, I would say in general terms that if the colour swatch that you have photographed is in fact very much the same tone and strength as the bench top then it's probably not going to be a great choice. We tend to gravitate towards a contrast between bench top and cupboard, and light cupboards are favoured because they are fresh and clean looking.

I would say in summary you need to head in the direction of a warmer white (less stark) than what you currently have without going into a muddy neutral colour which is what your sample looks like.

Keep trying various samples, and follow your gut until you feel you've got it right. And if it's too tricky get a colour consultant/designer in for a quick 1 hour consult to make sure you get it right.
