Before you try this you must give the roots a heavy soaking. Then soak it again. They become very plyable when soaked. If you bend them to far the roots will get a break and it becomes useless from the break and beyond. The best is to leave them alone. Not an option for me when this plant goes to its winter home. You could cut them but this is the best for the circumstances...
