My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Here comes hurricane Mathew.

In a few days I'll add a check mark. This is no fun! And it will cost. How much and how bad is yet to be determined. I'll know Friday or Saturday. I've been working on being ready with more work to go. Tomorrow morning the orchid work starts...

    Got my check mark. Mathew was a beast. We were lucky. At the last hour it wobbled to the East. We took a glancing blow instead of a direct hit. I had modest damage/ All orchids are fine. I just got the power back 10 hours ago. Without for 48 hours. Now I'm bathing in the luxury of air conditioning and all that electricity brings. And slept well last night. Still a lot of aggravation and sweaty labor. And financial costs as well. But no one hurt and restoration is moving along.
