Scott, we are currently building a house and having issues with our 8x8 posts and open cedar beam porch. I'm using Jacobean stain for the front door & cave select limestone on the house...The cedar & posts I'm afraid won't mix well together and I'm having an issue with finding a stain color. I don't mind staining the cedar and posts two different colors, I just cannot find any two that "blend" well when next to each other on the 2 different woods. Do you know the stain color & brand you used on these posts, other than just a dark brown?

Our posts have a green tint to them, so I assume they are green treated pine, not yellow though. So I am unsure if I will get the safe end result as what you have here. I wish we would have known that there are green/yellow/brown treated posts these days!

The stain was a special mix that we made on site from different Cabot stains. I would just make up samples and try it in on scrap wood until you get just the color you want.
