1. cornice was made for drapes to stack on one side with 1 direction pull will totally look better if you are keeping it to do the same. your pictures need to be moved or removed.

2. lower and center the picture with the fire place box. usually you want to have the center of a picture at 60" to look best. find or build a tall bookcase/storage unit to fit the space to the left of the brick.

3 & 4. get closet doors, you really don't want the clutter as you enter the house. you also don't want to look at the side and wiring of a TV. replace it with a small table, console or dresser to put things as you come in the door making it a true entry. will that green piece in your living room fit there? a mirror above is nice to make last minute checks as you walk out the door. or put a bench there to remove shoes with a console table behind the couch opposite it.
