Are you trying to pick out a backsplash or wall color? When you say really white, does that mean you are trying to find a bright white with a high LRV or a white with no undertone?

I don't know what those words mean :-) I'm trying to pick a white paint color for above cabinets and rest of the room and leave backsplash for later. I just don't want the white to look too gray or off-white/ivory

Okay, so you are looking for a white wall paint with little to no undertone. Most have a undertone, from pink to yellow and all colors in between. I don't think BM Chantilly Lace has much of a undertone and it's pretty bright. All softer whites will have a undertone, that's how they make them softer, color is added to the white. I think the best undertone is beige. Try Oxford White, Steam, and White Dove for soft white. They all have a beige undertone, no strong blue, grey, or yellow.

Whites ate very difficult to get right with cabinet whites. Do you have cabinets in? Also, the natural light and artificial light in your rooms make big impact. Do some sample boards. Get foam center poster pieces from hobby store or Sherwin Williams has some nice heavy sample board materials. Need around 12 x 12" to get a good feel. Look at them in morning, noon and
