Now, that's one nice splash of color and those geraniums are blooming like it's the middle of summer! I normally dig and store a few petunias over the winter to later take cuttings from, though the weather hasn't given opportunity and they're now under a blanket of snow, maybe they'll prove to be winter hardy lol.

Konrad, how is the Pinova? I have a small tree I grafted a few years ago and was wondering on the quality and harvest dates.

Well...harvest date, not sure.. could be anytime down the road when they drop in the winter lol. They're growing sheltered in town which is zone 3a. If I would have it out of town in my test orchard which is more a zone 2a like yours, I had my doubts if any would ripen in time or wood survive in a cold winter. Have tasted...wife said too sour, I said pretty good but not a WOW apple...but then, a not finished apple looses its potential. Looks like it needs the ax..just too late ripening!

Mine is grafted onto a siberian that I am growing as a multiple stemmed tree so it will be easy to axe and regraft that branch. Obviously it ripens way to late for my liking I tried to stick to earlier varieties but a few odd balls like Pinova are fun to try.

Prairie_northrose, your flowers are gorgeous! My petunias were horrible! Maybe too much rain this year. I've had begonia tubers in the house for several weeks and the soil on some of them still hasn't dried out!
