I think it's gorgeous as is. I wouldn't paint those wood doors, they're quite nice looking.

I would paint everything that's red in a blue color and leave the rest The doors are a beautiful color. It looks like from the picture you get a lot of sunlight which might need a rich true blue navy color, from the pictures the blue looks a little too light. I wouldn't paint anything white or black with the gorgeous green metal roof, the siding color goes really well with the roof color and trim around windows, except the red color. Keep it simple :) It's a beautiful house.

The evergreen and red clay are classic Craftsman colors, and perfectly in keeping with the style of your home. Really, the front railing and steps are the only things that NEED attention (i.e., stained to match the doors). However, if it were my beach house, I would brighten up the colors this way:

*under-roof: pale sky blue

*the red beams: a rich lavender

*the red window trim and the railing spindles: dandelion yellow

*the railings and the front step: dark green

... but you want to tone it down? Why???

Hey There: I do love this house and its color combination...I think it works really great. The only thing that I would do is taking care of the railing, the stairs and the double door and have them in the same color scheme you are having for the rest of your house...

I too live on the water :) As a matter of fact not far from Rosemary Beach. It's a beautiful community but none of the pictures show any one with a metal roof in your color. We also have solid wooden doors, a solid wooden garage door, porch posts and they can be a lot of upkeep but totally worth it! That's why we use Varathane wood stain in Golden Mahogany on all our outdoor wood. It took us a long time to find this wonderful stain, it's very durable and easy to use. They have lots of different colors too, it's affordable and easy to find. Go check out their website. The Hale Navy color is my favorite blue paint color :) but it looks lighter in your pictures but still my favorite. If this was my project, I would stain all your doors 1st, step back and see what a difference it makes, it will make it easier to pick other colors. Also, Varathane sells in smaller sizes so you don't have to buy a gallon if your not sure about color :)

When I suggested colors for the rail and spindles, I only meant for the front steps. The iron rails on the porch are wonderful the way they are. Also, a good wood refinishing shop can get doors stripped and finished in one day. Good luck!
