Is it weird to only have marble on the walls in a bathroom?

We are renovating a bathroom and are deciding what should go where. We are considering doing a pure white quartz vanity top (or glassos); calacatta gold on the floor, shower, and walls; and a gray chevron porcelain tile on an "accent" wall. Since porcelain is very durable and stain resistant, I'm now thinking that maybe it makes sense to put the porcelain chevron tile on the floor, and then calacatta gold on the walls, shower, floor, etc.

Would it look weird to not have any marble on the floor or vanity top, but just have it on the walls?

It might. It'll cost you, too. It really depends on the room.

Easy cleaning, though.

I'm doing the super white on my vanity and a cararra marble floor. As for the walls in the shower and just outside (pony wall and under window next to shower) I'm considering white subways, 4X12. I really wanted marble in the shower, but the upkeep is immense. And I have a huge shower. I'll prob relent and do a black marble hex or something on the shower floor, but the walls will be ceramic or glass. Too much upkeep otherwise. So, it would make sense for you to put the porcelain in the shower and do the real stuff on the outside. And the porcelain marble and the real marble never look good together. You can tell the obvious difference.

I agree with Beth. We are doing a mix of subway tiles in the shower and on walls and glass tiles for the shower. Our floor will be a marble mosaic. I didn't want to worry in particular about water staining the marble.
