Pro Grout Excel

Hello, I went to the tile, and the salesman recommended this product which doesn't need seal. I am kind of suspicious, but want to see if anybody used this product before.

We are also considering using ProGrout Excel from the Tile Shop in Standard White. Has anyone had any good or bad experience with this grout? Our tile guy has no preference. We are looking for a very "white" grout in a stain-resistant brand. Any opinions on Pro Grout Excel? Thank you!

@chris2000kc did you end up using ProGrout Excel after all? We are considering and just wanted some reviews. Appreciate if you could share your experience.

Remodeling my bathroom and used the pro excel natural color and it came out spotty. Not a consistent color. So I pulled the grout out, they gave me s different bag and did it again being very careful with every step of directions using about 1:2 ratio water w mix, cleaning with a very dry/damp sponge and using all the same 1x mix to ensure constancy. It still came out spotty but not as much. I think this product is very sensitive. At least this color. My advice is to test this first.

I actually purchased the product for my shower wall & floor. The shower wall came out beautifully and so did the floor. The problem I’m having is the grout after 30-45 days started discoloring. Not sure if discoloration was caused my the minerals of the cobble flooring, shampoo, soaps or water. My water my be hard, however not that hard with a water softer. I had the floor grouted again with the same grout & it was sparkling white, however discolored again after 30-45 days. The grout states stain resistant, which I think is cleanable with grout cleaning products - not the cause. As beautiful as white looks agains black, I would stay away from grouting shower floor white.

We used excel pro grout from the tile shop. It was supposed to be “the best” and mildew resistant. It is a horrible grout. Do not use!

Had the exact same experience as dmjj1234. We have city water originating from a Great Lake. . The grout also cracked the entire length of the joint between the wall and shower floor. This was all installed by a very experienced tile guy. Superior has ignored my inquiry, so it evidently recognizes its claims for Pro Grout Excel are untrue and is not willing to stand behind them. Avoid!

I bought Superior Pro-Grout Excel in ivory color for kitchen floors. The Tile shop sales rep recommended that it was stain resistant. in short, it is NOT. The grout lines became dirty very quickly. Another problem with this grout is, if you try to rub, it washes out! After several years I did find a solution that cleans this grout well - Custom Grout & Tile Cleaner and Sealer. But for next project, I am looking for grout that is more heavy duty and definitely not light color!
