Is the ceiling a shade darker than the walls?

Thinking of painting my ceiling a different color than my walls. Walls are pure white. What color do you recommend for ceiling?

    Can't remember what we painted the ceiling. Generally, ceilings are a bit lighter. But if you look at the picture, and the ceiling looks darker, and you like it, try a slighter darker white on the ceiling. Good luck
