ok, just loose that rug to start to small and too busy i promise that will make things look less cluttered right away.

buy white coax cable, longer so you can pin it down around the trim.

put the desk on the wall the cubby thing is on now. get a large no pattern or light patterned rug.

put a chair and an end table on the side the desk is on now.

hang some wall shelves above the desk for storage.

that lighting is horrible. i would change out the fixture or at least the light bulbs.

get a desk lamp and a reading lamp.

I also think an accent wall color could work behind desk.

How do you put the desk floating with cords?
