Living Room Sofa Suggestions

We are looking to change our living room sofas. I'm looking at neutral colors, leaning towards something beige-ish, but wondering if a gray-ish sofa would look good in this space???

Also, suggestions for rug? Shag? No shag? Keep rug in same color family as sofa?

I think gray-ish would look nice/kind of a gray-taupe-ish colour, you don't want the colour to blend with the walls. Maybe pick a rug first that you like? whatever style you like, maybe something with a little bit of a print or texture?
