Yes, we would highly recommend the table be sealed and routine resealing maintenance to preserve the look of the table. There are some products that claim to do a permanent seal, with a single application, however we cannot personally speak to their effectiveness.

Yes, this unit comes pre-sealed from the factory. We do not have any recommendations for a brand, however we would advise going to your local hardware store, and ask what their customers have had the best success with.
