Need help deciding on temp flooring

I'm installing vinyl flooring in my galley kitchen + eat in kitchen area and can't decide between vinyl groutable tile or vinyl plank flooring. (180 sq ft total). It's a temp floor that I'll keep for about a year till I do a kitchen remodel, but I still want it to look decent. The choices are: 1) dark vinyl plank, imitating dark hardwood (can't find one that is s close enough match to existing hardwood); 2)dark tiles, preferably in herringbone pattern; or 3) light grey tiles, preferably in herringbone pattern. the vinyl plank would be easier to install, but is it weird to have two different tones of hardwood in a house? Below is photo of transition (hardwood to current floor the tile will lay on top of). The kitchen cabinets are white and the countertop is a sort pinkish Formica. There are oak hardwood floors in the rest of the house. Thanks for any help!
