That looks amazing. I have a grafted baileys marvel and Alphonso and I have a haden and chaunsa grown from seed. All in pots though due to the Dallas winters

Thanks all. One thing about Baileys is- fast growth. It goes vertical quickly. The flavor is very good too.

Its taken some cold the last 2 years with no protection..31f last year,33f this year. A few leafs were singed..but no die back at all.

the one i have from seed took 32F for a few hours last winter with no ill effects either.

i even got 1 fruit from it in June.

hoping this year winter will be mild again.

i am guessing that banana and other plants give it a micro-climate which helps.

Mine is similar, but, i am clearing out some room to give it more light.

No,the Mango fronts it all day. Its been a return to a normal bay area winter Larry and things have held up to rains,and 58f and 42f more or less. So,no help from the drought winters that were 8f warmer in Dec-Jan.

Its in a sunny spot- a hot spot in summer time. I only wish it wasn't so close to those roofs..roofs really drain cold air in winter. But,I had no choice on a small lot.

I have a feeling a Baileys from seed is 90+% true. Its not like you are going see a tree that's short and round like my Champagne came out to be from seed.

I mean,I got lucky..they win unbiased taste tests,they take our cool climate well. I just wished I had known of them around 2000. It would actually be a small tree by now with 10 more years.
