I voted stall but that is totally contingent on whether you have a tub elsewhere. I'd give up a private tub for design but not having a tub at all. Sooner or later something is going to leak or need to be washed sitting down.

I have found more and more people with a tight space are opting for a beautiful custom shower. But do consider that means no more relaxing baths for the Mrs in her own bathroom. Something my wife won't give up.
Would love to see some before and after pictures.

Thanks for all your responses. We never take baths so a shower makes sense. Will this affect the house value in terms of resale? There is a guest bathroom w/ a tub, FYI.

I think as long as you have a tub in another bathroom, you can do just the stall in the master.

This being the master bath not your main bath. It would not adversely affect your resale. Actually quite the opposite if its done well. A well designed shower with body jets and a rainfall shower head are huge selling factors. People LOVE them, have you considered going with a steam shower?

Exactly what skybluelemon said: what do YOU prefer? Either is fine.
