Need help Midcentury windows - DC Area

My windows are original from 1971, aluminium doble glass and we are considering to upgrade.

In total we have more than 40 windows in the house, however we would like to change all the livingroom door windows (total 32' facing the back yard + windows up to the celing) and bedrooms windows (5 doble windows 6' and 3 little one)

- cost range? Best brands? Best constractors?

- is it worthy to change only few? or it's better to repair/paint/clean the current one?

- any experience you want to share?
