The chimney portion on many hoods can be customized for a lower height, Yours is quite low, I'd consult a LOCAL appliance store for help with a selection which should be very light in appearance in any scenario. Consider glass.....

Unfortunately, your duct is not standard size, and since you have low ceiling this might be a problem for the installation of any island mount range hood with smaller or bigger duct. While the suggestion of Brickwood Builders is practical, we do not think it is functional .As the flush mount range hoods are installed way too far from the stove. The ideal distance between the stove top and the bottom part of the range hood varies with the different manufacturers. With us, we consider the ideal distance to be between 28`` - 30``. For the minimum recommended distance from the top of the stove to the bottom of the range hood in your area, I would recommend to check with your city hall.

We have the same dilemma. Wondering if you can plz send pictures of what you used here. We have an island gas 30” stove w 84” ceilings. Thinking one of the glass line range hoods w short chimney package. Wondering too how a 30” range hood would look over the 30” island stove? Any pictures would be appreciated!
