It's a 1930's table that someone in a misguided attempt at "shabby chic" painted.
The chairs around the table are much newer and cheaper and the side board is a 1970's French Provincial piece that has also been smacked with the shabby chic brush. It likely is solid wood, possibly cherry or maple, possibly birch with a fruitwood stain.

The large bulbous legs and curved trestle are only common in the late 1920s to early 1930s. The chairs that matched the table would have had matching curved underpinnings and bulbous legs.

And yes, the person who painted that was either covering up some serious damage or had overdosed on Pinterest's "how to upcycle your furniture with a can of spray paint" pins.

At least it's not "distressed" paint.

That style table does tend to get really beat up with use unfortunately. Paint might have made sense.

We like the paint, the chairs were purchased separately, It's painted with chalk paint. I am more interested in what style it is. I think it is beautiful the way it is or I would not have bought it.
