On my monitor it looks cream, not yellowish and it looks fine. However, if in real life you don't like it - you can paint over it - unless you have put the wax on. I am unsure about painting over the wax as I am not experienced in chalk paint.

Something seems off...the picture below of Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint is much deeper and less tan/pinkish. Did you apply enough coats do you think or did the wax change its color. I think it needs to be a touch more white..if easy to do. If not, just leave as is.

Maureen!!! That is what I was hoping mine would look like. It does have a dark wax on it. Hmm what to do at this point?

The nightstand looks much more white than the dresser. I actually like the color of it but it depends on the rest of the room and the feel you are going for. I don't think you can paint over the wax. There may be some way to remove the wax though if you want to reprint it.

Can't help with the wax questions but I personally love how it looks on my monitor. With a splash of colour in the room (with some accessories) I'd be thrilled with it. (But I'm no designer, or in any other way qualified to comment.) I am looking to do a similar dresser in the exact same way.

You may want to read the attached link in regards to a wax alternative, but in answer to your question around removal, it references the following: What about painting over wax? If you would like to repaint furniture that has already been chalk painted and waxed, you must remove the wax first. Paint will not adhere directly to the wax. Wax can be removed by wiping the surface down with mineral spirits. Once the wax has been removed, you can proceed with your project. (Now I personally, would still prime with Zinsser Cover Stain).

Ok so maybe I'll keep it...and just redo the top of the dresser with the dark stain!?? That would look good right? I'm also doing another piece which needs to be redone as the color is way too dark. I may be using mineral spirits on this piece to lighten it but love the dark top. Yes the other piece on the bottom is being fixed and will be added.whatcha think of this piece?

Like the dark top and I think the bottom feels washed out or something; good decision to redo. Good luck.

The legs look good on this night stand but could you reveal wood on the door fronts to highlight the releafs?

The dresser looks nice to me....not a designer though. I think it's just the window treatment behind throws it off.

I think it looks fine on my monitor. It doesn't look yellow but more beige. You're there in real life and obviously aren't happy with it. I'd remove the wax and simply choose a different color you prefer. Stick with a neutral and use colorful accessories.

I think Eileen is right! If you change the window treatment it will make all the difference. And I love the new piece - as is ! I guess I'm easy to please :)
