Farmsink mounting/countertop questions and concerns

We are remodeling and bought a 36" whitehaus farm sink. We ordered the farm sink cabinet from our cabinet company and understand that we will need to build supports in the cabinet. I've read lots about these sinks on here, and I know that some people report cracking and other issues. My main question is should we under mount this sink (that's what I THOUGHT we would do) or is that asking for trouble if it DOES ever crack? I'd be devastated to have to destroy our granite our our cabinet. Does anyone have any experience, tips or suggestions for how we should mount this sink in relation to the granite? Any pictures? I don't want to be terrified to use this sink. Please link me to other threads if this has been answered. I haven't been able to find this exact question.

Undermount your sink and relax. You will not destroy your granite or cabinet removing this sink if you ever have to. I swear this is a myth here that just won't die no matter how often I stab it.

Cabinet fronts pop right off and go right back on. I've done this 10 times if I've done it once and have yet to get a single comment as to it not looking identical afterward.

While I don't know the specifics for your sink or cabinet, I do know that if you strap it in place, the guy who has to replace it will be very grateful, I promise. The straps are pictured here.

Thank you! The sink is 36" and the cabinet will be 39" and we will use some filler. That is what whitehaus suggested we purchase. Hopefully having a slightly roomier cabinet will help also. I appreciate the visual. Should we still buy/build supports or are the straps enough? Would I be able to find straps like that at a Home Depot type store?

I recently posted is on another thread. Our cabinet maker built a shelf for our Whitehaus sink to sit on, no straps.

It is fairly simple to remove an existing under mount farmhouse sink for replacement. I have overseen quite a few and there has never been any issue. The fireclay sinks vary a bit in size, so that would be a problem down the road if you ever wanted to replace the sink with the same brand, etc.

A shelf needs to be built if you are doing a farmhouse sink. Like the comment above.
