Can this product be installed on an angled ceiling?

I am rehabbing an old farmhouse - and the ceiling is angled. I need to know if this can be installed under those circumstances.

    Island mounts need a flat surface to be installed on, for angled ceilings, you will need to build a soffit or some type of flat surface for it to secure to.
